The Professional Services Council published a white paper today highlighting the use of
science and technology by international development companies supporting
USAID-funded development projects.
Development companies, like the members of PSC’s Council of International Development Companies (CIDC), have successfully employed the
latest science and technology innovations to meet intractable development
problems. PSC’s white paper identifies 35 examples of innovation by CIDC
companies in the areas of integrating mobile information and communication
technologies; collaborating with new and non-traditional partners and actors; expanding
research and outreach; and identifying project impacts.
The white paper also identifies barriers to the use of
innovative science and technologies in development and offers recommendations
for overcoming those barriers.
